Providing services to vessels at anchor is particularly challenging, but is normal practice for the Casper Defence team. During the military exercise Joint Warrior we looked after multiple naval assets in multiple locations – this included all aspects of a port visit by a USNS Military Sealift Command vessel anchored in the upper Firth of Clyde, North of Greenock and Gourock.

At anchorage of course, everything has to be moved by boat – water taxi services for personnel, collection of trash, delivery of food and equipment. Providing all these services whilst the vessel is at anchor requires a high level of planning to ensure the services are provided efficiently and the boats are where they need to be at the right time. Hire vehicles, airport transfers and communications are some of the additional services also provided by Casper Defence.
